Researcher
As a Research Intern for Pablo Torre Finds Out, you are part of the engine powering the "Finds Out" portion of our show. We specialize in solving mysteries through investigative journalism. PTFO’s storytelling blends deep-dive reporting with the fun, conversational energy of a video podcast. You will work directly with our producers and talent in our NYC studio.
Intern Task List
Story Scouting: You will be our eyes and ears in the corners of social media that our talent and producers may not use as often. Your goal is to spot emerging trends or weird sports stories from newer social platforms that feel like a "PTFO rabbit hole" waiting to be solved.
The Paper Trail: Sometimes a story is hidden in plain sight within public records or corporate reports. You will assist producers by organizing and tagging initial reviews of documents to see if there is a "smoking gun" worth investigating further.
Fact-Checking: Accuracy is everything for us, especially when we are taking on powerful figures. You will help vet information by cross referencing multiple sources and double-checking statistics to make sure every scoop we air is factual and legally sound.
Deep Dives: Under the wing of our producers, you will help peel back the layers on complex issues in sports. This might mean looking into the business angle of a major sports scandal or helping gather the pieces for a multi-part investigative series.
Nuts and Bolts: Assist the producers in our control room during tapings. Assisting in retrieving archival video for playout in the studio and for supplementing the episode in post-production. Assisting with episode metadata and social media copy. Updating master episode log.
Bonus skills: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere would be preferred.
Graphics Designer
We are seeking a creative individual with experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. We need someone ready to hit the ground running.
Duties: This internship provides hands-on experience in graphic design within a fast-paced media environment. You will assist with diverse design projects, handle day of design requests, and create quick turnaround content including thumbnails and show enhancements. Working closely with producers, you will gain comprehensive experience in both social media and broadcast design.
